Reflection #3

My plans have been very tight this past week. I have planned to keep up with all of my homework and not wait until the last minute to finish assignments. The study skill that I plan on using efficiently is SQ3R.This method has worked the best for me, and helps with any course I am taking. It has been very successful because it helps me fully grasp the material I am reading. I plan on carrying this method with me throughout college. Some adjustments that could help me are to take more time while I read and not rush through everything. I think I am doing pretty well on keeping my school work together, but everyone could always use some extra attention torwards there schoolwork. I plan on doubling my study time, and clearing out my agenda so I could spend a little more time in my textbooks.

Reflection Post #2

My life is not the most extravagant, So I can't give you a story that's going to blow you away. Although I do have a story that many people my age could probably relate too. Growing up, school was not always something that interested me. It took me many years to actually start taking school seriously, and to start making it a priority in my life.

It felt like my parents and everyone around me had just given up on me. I mean why wouldn't they? I had basically given up on myself. Looking back at high school, I never thought I would be where I'm at today. Having a seat in college is still very quite shocking to me. My life would have been so much different if I would've made the choice to not make school a commitment in my life.

This may not be a sad sob story like the one's in the story, But I feel that everyone who has ever been told they CAN'T do something should know that nothing is impossible. But let me get to the story .. Graduation day had to one of the happiest days of my life. For most kids graduation is just the day when you become an adult and leave your childhood. For me it was so much more then that. It was the day when I had proved everyone wrong. All the people who doubted me got a taste of karma.

But besides the fact that I got to change everyones face expressions, and scream "I TOLD YOU SO!" there was something so much better. The feeling that I gave myself. From feeling like there was no hope in me, and like I just would never be good enough, it gave me the confidence and courage to help me take on any of my dreams. I've learned alot from this experience. Nobody can ever tell you what you can or cannot do. It's only up to you.

The Things I Carry ,

I carry black sunglasses to hide my face. That way, If I'm having a bad day I can stroll right along and not make eye contact with anyone , since that opens the door to conversation. & Even if I did happen to catch their eye , they would never know. That's the best part. Occasionally, I use them for the sun. But that's pretty rare, I guess you could just say it's more of a fashion statement. I've always been into clothes and accessories. Many strangers would probably see me as some stuck up girl with not a care in the world, Little do they know.

Another thing you probably wouldn't know is that I carry insecurities. Some that can eat me alive. But along with those insecurities, I also carry poise. My poise will usually take over and hide the insecurities very well. Just like how my sunglasses hide my face. But besides my shades, I carry a purse. Filled with tangible elements that make me feel comfortable. Like my cell phone.

I carry my cellphone for the simple reason that I hate feeling alone. Getting a txt or even a phonecall lets me know that I crossed someones mind for atleast a second. As much as I hate to admit it, being alone drives me insane. I need to be associating with someone to feel alive and exuberant. If not, I would probably just end up txting myself, & That wouldn't be very exciting.

The one thing I carry that is very special to me that I also need to survive, My backbone. I speak how I feel and mean what I say. I also love taking on new challenges , dangerous ones. I guess you can say I'm pretty wild. Not only is this a part of my body that keeps me alive , but it also keeps my back straight giving me a nice tall posture. The posture that I carry is called "Confidence." The most important thing a girl should always carry with her.
